Blog 2

As I will not be in a field placement during this semester I will reflect on my previous experiences within a classroom. My first placement was at Averill Park Preschool. Although I am not interested in teaching preschool, I enjoyed spending time with children this young. This was a fun experience for me because in my course at HVCC I was taking a course all about how children learn through play. This was fun for me to read the textbooks and see the typical behavior and then have the same situations occur in a real life classroom. The students in this preschool were very well behaved and there was minor behavioral problems during the day. I was only in this classroom for 4 hours a week but the teachers and the students made me feel very involved and welcomed. Observing how much these young students learn throughout the day just from socializing and being engaged inspired me to want to teach older kids concepts they will use throughout their life.
